Why You Should Chose Us to Be Your Michigan Divorce Lawyers.

Beginning a case and retaining an attorney has traditionally been very time intensive, and can be overwhelming.  Despite advances in technology and the number of people who have access to the internet, the legal profession has inexplicably not harnessed the full potential of the internet and technology on behalf of the client.  As one of our client's, you will be able to accomplish the following from any computer with internet access;

  • Provide initial case information for initial pleadings;

  • Submit financial and employment information necessary for final judgments and orders;

  • Prepare for trial;

  •   Submit potential witness information;Direct witnesses to login and be interviewed right over the internet.

Accelerated Case Preparation for Your Michigan Divorce.

As with other legal cases,  preparation is key to surviving a divorce/custody or other family law matter.  The faster this information is gathered and collated, the sooner it can be used effectively to move your case through the Courts.  Due to our Case Investigation Center, our client's enjoy the following advantages over the vast majority of other attorneys practicing family law today:

  • Quicker completion of pre-trial pleadings:  Keep the opposing party and opposing attorney off balance and reacting to you throughout the duration of the case.  Put the other side on a treadmill, chasing paper very early in the case.

  • Faster and more accurate completion of required court forms:  The family law docket is one of the largest dockets in the court system.  Family court judges have thousands of cases to preside over through to completion with very limited resources.  As a result the courts rely on attorney's to manage their own dockets efficiently and accurately.  In addition, there is no uniformity from court to court in the forms a particular judge may require in their courtroom.  Failure to provide a judge with timely information can have the following undesirable consequences:  1.  Subject you to costs imposed by the court;  2.  Subject you to contribution to the opposing party's attorney fees which would otherwise be unnecessary;  3.  Increase the amount of time it will take to complete your case;  and 4.  Increase the amount of fees you are paying to your attorney.  Why would you want to risk alienating the judge who may ultimately decide the case?

  • Be prepared for trial within the first few weeks of your case:  As with other areas of legal practice, the vast majority of family law cases settle.  How that case is settled is going to affect you for years, even decades after the case is completed.  I believe in the following principle when litigating:  1.  You cannot negotiate from a position of weakness.  Being ready for trial early on eliminates much of the posturing and out of court arm twisting associated with negotiating a settlement.  You will be settling your case based on well prepared facts, not because of threats or intimidation by the other side.
